It would be untrue, if every body says that they understood the meaning of "widescreen". So what is widescreen? A widescreen image is a film, a computer or television image with a wider aspect ratio than the standard frame. Widescreen was first widely used in the late 1920s in some shorts tales and news reels. For past two years, with the advent of the HDTV, LCD and plasma technologies, the widescreen format has become the in-thing. 2. Front Projection HD television that is embedded with LCD or DLP technology. The screen sizes range from 30 to 100 inches and are pretty expensive.

High definition televisions are available in four different display models. They are the direct view, rear projection, front projection and flat panel. The flat panel HDTV is the latest buzz in the television technology. The LCD and plasma are the two flat models that use the HD technology. In direct view television, the cathode ray tube is placed behind the display screen.

3. Samsung LN-2651D LCD HDTV. This is a 26 inch LCD HDTV. This model has got good picture clarity. The menu system is simple and easy to use. This model has a feature specific to game model that enhances the colors of games. The refresh rate of the screen is 8-milliseconds. There are ample connections slots linking HDMI, component S-video and VGA video outputs.
