High Definition Television Display- HDTV Display

Today, High Definition or the HD is very much discussed not only among the lovers of electronics goods but also in consumer magazines. Many leading brands like Toshiba, Samsung, Panasonic, Philips and Pioneers are into the manufacturing and marketing of HD TVs. So one must be wondering what the hype about the HD TVs are all about.

What is High Definition Television?

The television set that has the ability to read the high-resolution signals is known as the HDTV or high definition television. The HDTV has the ability to capture the digital signals and it helps to create a beautiful combination of crystal clear image with stunning sound. The HDTV has high resolution pictures and good sound quality. They are the first steps to digital television. There are two types of HDTV. They are

1. Rear Projection television also known as the big screen TV. Here the screen sizes range from 40 to 70 inches.

2. Front Projection HD television that is embedded with LCD or DLP technology. The screen sizes range from 30 to 100 inches and are pretty expensive.

High definition television has many advantages. TVs with this technology receives only good digital signal and delivers a good picture. However, if the signal quality is bad then no picture will be displayed. The visual data is five times more than the other televisions due to cleaner signals and the colors are very much realistic.

Different Display Models Of HDTV

High definition televisions are classified on the basis of the working methodology.

1. HD -capable sets require an external HDTV receiver/decoder to display HDTV signals

2. HD ready sets have in built HDTV receiver and decoder.

High definition televisions are available in four different display models. They are the direct view, rear projection, front projection and flat panel. The flat panel HDTV is the latest buzz in the television technology. The LCD and plasma are the two flat models that use the HD technology. In direct view television, the cathode ray tube is placed behind the display screen.

HDTV Antenna

For the high definition television to catch the frequency antennas known as HDTV antenna are required. Selecting the right type of antenna is very much important to get clarity images and sound. HDTV cannot receive the transmission from normal antennas. Always keep in mind to use the antennas designed for "Fringe area "reception and these should be installed in the position to accept signals directly from the transmitting tower. Also remember to install a FM trapper to trap the FM signals that are likely to interfere with reception of HDTV antenna.
